Although there are more references to Kerrera having 29m I think it is safe to assume it was in fact a 30m (or £20) land. However, I have not found a single reference that indicates it once contained pennylands. I cannot therefore offer any suggestions as to a conversion rate except by analogy with other islands. At 30m it should perhaps be viewed as similar to Gigha, Jura, Colonsay and Iona – perhaps 3 davachs valued at 10m each by the Scots.
The farms of Kerrera are quite frequently assessed in terms of horsegangs. I think this is a late intrusion and have not taken it into account although I have included the assessment data in the table.
