Contin is more difficult than other parishes in Ross because some assessments seem to reflect Old Extent whilst others seem to reflect New. The farms in the eastern parts of the parish appear to be of a type with those in neighbouring parishes where davachs may have been valued at 10m before the end of the fourteenth century. However Contin is a huge parish and as we move west we come across the 1 davach to 4m valuations that I think indicate Old Extent. This is stated for Eskadale and implied for Glenmeanich (=Inverneseny).

The table shows a minimum of 14 davachs.

There were detached parts of Urray & Fodderty parishes within Contin (see NOSAS, Strathconon, p 87; Shennan pp 7-8, 134-5). I have here included them within Contin.
