ALI pp 63-5 of 1443-4 gives a charter by the Lord of the Isles to Mackintosh of 40m in Lochaber. Many farms in Glen Roy and Glen Spean are named but none have valuations. They also appear in RMS II (1243) 1476. Mackintosh Muniments No 437 gives a wadset for 1655 where a very similar list of lands extended to 40m.

GD221/4270/6 of 1700 is a contract between McIntosh & Keppoch whereby the former obtains the 3 ploughs of Davoch Laggan and in return is to grant Keppoch a tack of the 2 davachs of Keppoch and others. (See also Mackintosh Muniments No 668).

It seems likely that 2 davachs were worth 40m in which case the ratio was 1 davach (or ounceland?) to 20 merks. Unfortunately I have insufficient evidence to confirm this.
